Walnut Grove School Vision Statement:

  • The purpose of Walnut Grove School is to address the needs of individual students and prescribe the enrichment and/or intervention they need. The entire Walnut Grove School community will strive to improve and grow, learning from the success and skills of others, in order to achieve academic excellence across all grade-levels.


School Profile

Walnut Grove School opened in August, 2009, currently serving 730 students, grades K-8. The school is staffed with 30 eachers. Our student population is 84% Hispanic/Latino, 13% White, .02% African-American, with a free and reduced lunch rate of 75% and with 58% of our students English Learners. 13% of our students are enrolled in our Special Education Program. The Walnut Grove School Dual Language Academy is providing an enrichment program dedicated to building a student body that is bilingual, biliterate and multicultural. This is being achieved by providing a comprehensive core curriculum in conjunction with instruction in Spanish. Beginning in Kindergarten, 50% of instruction will take place in Spanish and 50% of the instruction is in English (50:50 ratio). Our G.A.T.E. students (grades 3-8), are served during our daily 45 minute rotation program. Staff is working diligently, continually monitoring the way we do business to give Walnut Grove School students the support they need this year.  We have high expectations of ourselves and our students!.
